The Brief and The Reality

The site – a SSSI and Special Area of Conservation – had insufficient infrastructure to meet growing operational needs. Equipment was inadequately stored, machinery was exposed to the elements, and maintenance costs were rising. Any intervention had to be developed without compromising the site’s ecological integrity, creating a design challenge with virtually no margin for error.

How 360DS Approached It Differently

360 DS developed a new shed and site management facility that provided secure, weatherproof indoor storage for vehicles, plant, and equipment. The design was developed with the ecological sensitivity of the site at its core – materials, siting, and construction methods were all chosen to preserve the SSSI and SAC designations while delivering a practical, long-lasting facility.

What Changed For Them

Zero ecological compromise.

The facility was designed and approved within the SSSI/SAC constraints - protecting the site's statutory designations.

Maintenance costs reduced.

Secure indoor storage protects assets from weather damage - directly cutting the ongoing maintenance spend that had been escalating.

Operational capacity increased.

The new facility meets growing operational needs that the previous infrastructure simply could not accommodate.
