The Brief and The Reality
The existing guardhouse was assessed as having significant security vulnerabilities – insufficient physical visibility and surveillance of the access routes into the barracks and surrounding area. The entry sequence, fencing, and gate systems were inadequate for a facility required to operate continuously 24 hours a day. A cost analysis confirmed that refurbishment of the existing building would not deliver the required security standard. A new solution was needed.
The Outcome
How 360DS Approached It Differently
360DS assessed the full security landscape around the guardhouse – identifying vulnerabilities, evaluating the entry sequence, and reviewing the fencing and gate systems. Based on this assessment, a new building was designed to deliver the required operational efficiency and significantly improve physical visibility and surveillance of all access routes. Upgrades to fencing and gates were incorporated into the proposals, creating a comprehensive, integrated security solution for this critical location.
