Working smart at digital show
One our directors, Simon Avery, saw the shape of the future at the Digital Construction Week Show at ExCeL London.
Simon represented Three Sixty DS at the annual event dedicated to digital construction, engineering, design, manufacturing and operations.
He was able to see and try out some of the innovative tools and processes moulding the future of the built environment.
It’s important for us to attend such shows so we can keep ahead of the curve both for the benefit of our clients and so we can meet likeminded professionals with whom we can share information about the latest trends and opportunities.
Simon is pictured trying out some of the latest visualisation technology and exploring the show with Jack Parry and Daniel Kent, both from Mitie.
Among the displays was a demonstration of Boston Dynamics ‘Spot’ agile mobile robot, whose capabilities include performing surveys, inspections and scans remotely.
We are already using cutting-edge Faro Technologies 3D measurement, imaging and realization technologies.
Its high-precision scanners allow for exact 3D digital twins of buildings, structures and environments to be created, viewed and interpreted in multiple location anywhere in the UK and world.
This has been driving the BIM journey both at our own firm and for others as we also act as one of the few UK distributors for FARO.
We use the latest CAD software and have been deploying drones for many of our projects, especially in our surveying services.
The Digital Construction Week Show returns on June 5-6 next year. With the pace of technological change, it will be fascinating to see the next generation of innovations in our industry in 12 months time.

Graduate recruitment drive
Three Sixty DS is building for the future with a trio of University of Portsmouth graduate appointments as it continues to grow.
We have welcomed architectural assistant Raza Ghanbari, building services design engineer Isaac Moore and BIM assistant Lukmon Timson to our South regional office in Chichester.
They join as part of the firm’s graduate recruitment programme to employ the best and brightest talent as part of our long-term strategy.
We deliver survey, design and build solutions for commercial and public sector clients in multiple sectors nationwide.
Managing director Gareth Pryce, who leads the business with directors Simon Avery and Harvey Ford, said: “A very warm welcome goes to Raza, Isaac and Lukmon.

The hat-trick of appointments brings Three Sixty DS’ headcount up to 33 at its offices at Hills Barns in Chichester and at London Bridge.
Three Sixty DS provides architectural services, building surveying, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and fire engineering, specialist surveying, and project management and contract administration.
This includes such cutting-edge innovations as 3D measurement, laser scanning, imaging and realisation technologies, and acoustic consultancy services.
Raza, Lukmon and Isaac are the latest graduates to join the firm. All three studied at the University of Portsmouth.
Raza, aged 29, of Havant, graduated in architecture (RIBA Part 1 Hons).
Isaac, aged 22, of Bognor Regis, graduated in mechanical engineering (MEng) and is now studying for a masters (MSc) in mechanical engineering.
Lukmon, aged 33, of Portsmouth, graduated in Building Information Management.
