Scope of Works

In accordance with its commitment to enhance its condition, the Lee Lower Rivers waterway undergoes technical inspections by the Environmental Agency every five years. We are honoured to contribute to this ongoing commitment.

Challenges

The Lee Lower Waterway, stretching from Hoddesdon in Hertfordshire, through the Olympic Park, to the Tidal reaches of the River Thames in East London, faces significant challenges. Years of industrial use and the impacts of urban development have adversely affected the rivers of the Lee, resulting in a deteriorated condition and the destruction of numerous wildlife habitats. Positive transformations are on the horizon.

Design Solution

Our dedicated surveyors diligently collected concrete samples for strength testing, conducted rebound hammer tests, alkalinity testing, and re-bar cover assessments. Collaborating closely with Environmental Agency engineers, we played a crucial role in generating comprehensive reports for lifecycle maintenance. Design 360’s adept specialists seamlessly integrated with the existing teams, and our detailed reports underwent thorough evaluation alongside engineering calculations. The outcome was a set of recommendations for repair and maintenance solutions aimed at revitalising the Lee Lower Waterways.
